Quantcast

finally got a review

so my vp finally came and did my review and i was doing cst prep/review in groups with candy for questions answered correctly kind of a thing. overall, i got a good review like i was pretty sure i would but what cracked me up was this: "at first, things are kind of chaotic and messy and i was wondering if they were ever going to settle down, but then they snapped into focus." what i want to know is, when did they ever snap into focus? it was pretty darn chaotic to me the whole time. it does take them a bit to settle down--probably way much longer, but oh well. they know more than they think they do.

You never know how kids are going to respond when the vp is in the room.  I'm glad things went well.  I do have a couple of memorable stories about evaluations.  I preferred the days when principals randomly came and visited classes without all of the hoopla.

I get so nervous when someone comes in and checks out my room.  It's worse when it's a formal evaluation, but I get nervous no matter what.

actually, my kids were more stressed over the vp being there than i was. i kept explaining that he was there for me and not them.  believe me, there isn't much hoopla involved in these visits. i'm only in my third year, but i'm already jaded...here i am, here's my classroom, now, whatcha gonna do about it? i don't think that i'm necessarily the best teacher ever or that i can't improve, i'm just not too worried about visitors. especially the random people from the district office that have been popping by...things are going to be intersting next year...
