crack monkeys pay attention!!!

ha! it's not me, it really isn't. still VERY cool to hear them talk about this election. some of them are totally disenfranchised for a number of reasons: too young to vote, don't pay taxes, not a citizen, not planning on being a citizen, general teenage apathy, seeing a flawed system and wondering where their stake in it is...and yet some of them get it. they get the possible historical outcome of this presidential race. they get that it is a matter of race and gender. and they are folliwng the state primaries. keeping me updated even! i don't know that much will change personally, even if obama or hillary wins as i have very little faith left in this whole presidential election process and serious politicians. i mean, i was even talking about how i didn't know who to vote for in the primary and how frustrated i am by the delegates/caucus/electoral college schema. they listen. they are human beings who are starting to develop a personal view of the world around them, exploring new ideas and developing analytical/abstract thought, leading them to actual synthesis of information! it is a wonder to behold, the learning process!

I am also confused about this election year. It is good that kids see adults looking at the issues and the candidates instead of just voting for a party.
