I know what you mean about that time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  It's hard to focus.  It sounds like you have some cool things planned.:)

I agree.  I am ready for VACATION!  Four days was just the start.  The kids are ready, they are squirrely as heck.  They won't calm down even though I am giving them regular work.

Maybe our high tension is transmitted to them and they know we want out too.

Any suggestions on how to keep sanity until then?

We must teach until Dec. 21st.  How about you?

Suggestions to keep sanity? Well, due to being in PI, I don't have to plan LA, I know what I am doing as far as 7th grade soc studies, it's just making sure I stay on top of grading and planning for 8th grade social studies. oh and getting sleep and taking time out for myself, like having a social life, but not being too busy??? That's all I got...we're doing Secret Santas in my LA core and I am doing teracher Secret Santas too...all that kind of stuff keeps it going for me...might be overload for some...

Where I teach the kids are pretty fabulous... at least this year!!   :o)

However, the teachers are a different story.  Most are great, but I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of the daily drama of a select few with whom I'm required to work closely.  I need another vacation just to escape this stage!!!!

But, I'm currently in the midst of a unit on Africa (I teach world geography to 6th graders), and this has kept me going.  Tomorrow I go in dressed as Nefertiti and do a little Egyptian role-playing.  Yep, it's time to "walk like an Egyptian!!!"
