i feel betrayed, even when i don't trust...

i don't trust politicians. never have, never will. grew up cynical about the government. and yet...i got a flyer in my mail box about the NCLB revisions. and nancy pelosi is backing merit pay and high stakes testing and argh! somehow i feel betrayed by this. she was supposed to be on our side!

Why do politicians think teachers are for testing?  Where do they get this idea?  Teating doesn't teach children to handle life.  It isn't inquiry or anything like teaching kids to think for themselves.  What is wrong with these people?

I feel betrayed as well.  I am looking for a candidate running for president who opposes NCLB.  So far, I have seen only two: a liberatarian Republican (Ron Paul) and a very liberal Democrat (Kucinich).  Obama, Clinton, Richardson, Edwards, Giuliani, Romney, Thompson and McCain all support a revised NCLB.  It's ripping our school apart.
