Quantcast

i like captain janeway...

that isn't really what i was going to post about, but she is a good capt. and in this particular episode, she is upset that 3 people have slipped through the cracks on her ship so it is her problem. this is like teaching. i am responsible for all those kiddos and i don't want any of them slipping through the cracks, but it seems impossible. this is why i'm a big fan of teaming at the middle school. it is so great to get multiple perspectives on a kid and someone else always notices something you didn't. i get along better w/some kids than others. and yet, when the science teacher points out johnny can't read or whatever it is, i have more information to help a student who i might have let slip in my class. this post is becoming redundant b/c i am tired.

I know what you mean.  Captain Janeway and Captain Picard made sure all their people got the best possible care.

We as teachers have to make sure all our students are getting what they need.  Caring for the needs of a 100 kids that you only see 1 hour a day is exhausting.  Tired on the couch not wanting to even reach for the remote to change the channel tired. Athena
