well, bad news is, our school is Year One Program Improvement and our overall STAR scores went down. the good news is, hella my kiddos went up on their STAR scores. some serious personal growth happened last year. i'm so proud of them! i can't wait to see them and tell them. we're talking 30-50 point gains here. my babies did good! they did so good i almost had to teach 2 lang arts cores again(shout out to chuck on the soc studies assignmemt). warm fuzzies for everyone!!! man i love this teaching gig! i know standarized high stakes tests are the devil and all and NCLB has serious flaws and blah blah blah, but the STAR scores are a concrete way to show my students their improvement. i need to keep writing portfolios this year.
