having fun time!!!

yeee-ah!!! it's fun time for me! see, i am a barista on weekends and breaks(i been doing it for waaaay too long while in school and such, and now they pay me to drink coffee, basically) and well, after the last school year, which was rough, i decided that i can't take it anymore!!! and i need a BREAK before school starts. so august is going to be ALL fun time. camping, santa cruz, great america, rock the bells, clubbing. oh yeah and sleeping. and then, i am just going to kick some academic ass this year!!! p.s. potc school supplies in the dollar section at target!! hell yeah!!! jack supplies will be 7th grade social studies. will supplies will be 8th grade social studies. see, i do think about school;) AND they had all kinds of actual educational stuff too!!!

I have to admit that I had never heard of a barista before.  I looked it up, and I found a Starbucks website.  I imagine that's a pretty interesting job!:)

not nearly as interesting as teaching! but yes, quite interesting. and teaching has only added depth to the starbucks world as i sling coffee in the city i teach in. i actually am currently working w/the older sister of one of my former students so i get to keep an eye on him a little longer.  it also creates a place where my students know they can reach me outside of school and that has facilitated some conversations that needed to happen that wouldn't have happened at school. i try not to mini conference when their parents come in, as much as the parents might want to.  apparently, the barista gig adds to my cool factor as well;)

i'm the only one i know of that was in my credential program and at my site; that's pretty funny about your school there. do they all work at the same coffe shop as well? and please tell me that's not a venti something-or-other in your hand;)

i teach 7th and 8th grade langauge arts and social studies. i'm going into year 3 of teaching social studies and year two of teaching language arts on my own. i have a single subject credential in social science. my goal is ditch language arts entirely. i love teaching! ah-ha moments are the best!!!
